About: Information on practically any topic is readily available on the Web or through other sources. But oftentimes, trying to find the information you need can be difficult. During this meeting, we will explore resources available, including SLED (Statewide Library Electronic Doorway) and the Web, and how to search these resources effectively.
Location:

  • UAA Consortium Library, Room 306 (see below for links to maps & parking information)
  • Web Conferencing will be available on a limited basis (you must register by Monday, March 26)

Presenter: Deborah Mole
Deborah Mole is an Assistant Professor and Document Delivery Services Librarian for the University of Alaska Anchorage. She has been employed by UAA since June 2000, and has also worked in public and corporate libraries. Debbie created and co-taught Professional Studies in Library Science: Exploring Electronic Databases to Use with Students, which she offered at the Anchorage School District Teacher Academy, and taught Library Research in the 21st Century. She regularly provides library instruction and reference desk assistance to students enrolled at the University of Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University.
Cost: There is no cost to attend. However, you may have to pay for parking at UAA. Refer to Parking Information below.
Food & Drink: Food & drink are not allowed in Room 306. Please arrange to eat lunch before or after the presentation.
